Trongsa Dzong It is the largest dzong fortress in Bhutan sitting high above the rising Mangde Chhu. Views of this dzong are completely spectacular. It has a steep drop to the south which usually can’t be seen due to cloud and mist. Its striking location wins it great popularity and it also remains an important administrative building. With fast flowing Mandge Chu below it and amazing views of mountains all around, it remains a great place to indulge into meditation.
Tower of Trongsa Royal Heritage Museum This watchtower has a pleasing ancient museum featuring five floors. Each floor brims with displays of Buddhist art and royal memorabilia, including ancient treasure troves like a 500-year-old jacket of Ngagi Wangchuk. It was initially raised to defend attacks on the Dzong. Taa Dzong houses two temples. While one is dedicated to the legendary Gaser of Ling, the other one is dedicated to the future Buddha Maitreya. The statue and religious paintings exhibited here tell you a lot about the history of the place and thus, it remains a must visit place for history lovers.
Thruepang Palace This is a royal dzong in Trongsa District not far from the Trongsa Dzong. The palace features two-storeys which make it look more like a house than a palace.
